today's random google of the day was inspired by my experience at the post office cafeteria this afternoon. there is a giant post office accross the street from my workplace, and in this postal complex is the post office cafeteria. a place of culinary shock and awe, the post office cafeteria offers a variety of culinary delights such as the onion bun (my personal breakfast choice), off-brand tea, cottage cheese with canned pinapple, canned vegetables, various delights grilled with as much liquid lard as you can shake a stick at, and whatever culinary whimsies the cafeteria chef may choose to create. if i'm lucky i can avoid getting harassed during my visit to the cafeteria, but this is not always possible. the looks that i get when i say, "that's harassment" with as sweet a smile as i can muster almost make it worth it, however. the cash registers are manned by two korean women, one of whom is named theresa. i've heard her referred to as the "dragon lady," but i like her. she almost always looks entertained. sometimes i notice her sneering at whatever soap opera is playing on the cafeteria's large screen tv. i appreciate this because i sneer at them as well. and sometimes mutter to myself in response to whatever absurd, sexist crap is being portrayed there. but i try not to mutter to myself, these days i've got that under control, pretty much.
but anyway, today i ate some delicious canned corn from the salad bar at the post office. i enjoyed it greatly. it also made me think of twin peaks...
twin peaks?? i luved that show, why was it cancelled? i even had the coppy of laura palmer's diary!! It's weird you brought up Twin Peaks up. So on tv, you know how ABC makes those special "made for tv movie" (MFTV)with all the crazy effects...Gullivers Travels, and Arabian Nights and so on...so i guess they did one for Snow White and the 7 dwarfs...and it was...bad, really bad (all them MFTV things are bad) so, the people whom played the 7 dwarfs were pritty much all the professional dwarf actors in Hollywood (plus that dude from "Ghost" who taught Patrick Swazie how to be a ghost)
So, Willow (from that movie) was a dwarf, and also the guy from TWin Peaks!! For some reason i thought he was Sweedish or something....needless to say, the special sucked, but hey the brotha got paid (so did Willow!)
